KILZ Chalk Spray Paint: A Premium Matte Finish with Enhanced Adhesion

KILZ Chalk Spray Paint is an ultra-matte, decorative paint and primer in one, designed for the upcycling of furniture. Featuring a quick-dry formula, this spray paint delivers a premium matte finish with enhanced adhesion and durability on a variety of surfaces, including wood, metal, plastics, cast stone, and wicker.

Ideal for small indoor or outdoor projects and intricate, detailed surfaces, KILZ Chalk Spray Paint can be further enhanced with KILZ Clear or Dark Sealing Wax. The comfort tip reduces finger fatigue during application. The coverage rate is approximately 12 square feet per can, depending on the surface texture, porosity, and application method.

Surface Preparation: Before applying the KILZ Chalk Spray Paint, the project surface should be clean, free of dust, grease, wax, peeling paint, mold, and mildew. If washing is necessary, use a non-soapy detergent or a TSP substitute, rinse well, and allow to dry. Scrape off any loose paint and sand the surface to a smooth finish. For optimal adhesion on difficult surfaces, apply a coat of primer such as KILZ ORIGINAL oil-based Primer/Sealer/Stainblocker or KILZ Premium water-based Primer/Sealer/Stainblocker.

Application Instructions: Apply the KILZ Chalk Spray Paint if the surface, air, and product temperatures are between 50°F and 90°F. Avoid painting in direct sunlight. Ensure adequate ventilation when spraying indoors, and cover adjacent areas to prevent overspray. Apply multiple thin coats to prevent dripping and sagging, allowing the paint to dry between each coat. The paint dries to the touch in 15 minutes and can be recoated after 45 minutes. Temperature and humidity extremes can affect the dry time and final appearance.

Shake the can vigorously for 1 minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle, and continue shaking often during use. Ventilation is required to avoid inhalation and combustion hazards. Do not use this product unless you can achieve cross-ventilation by opening windows and doors during application and drying. KILZ Chalk Spray Paint should not be used for touch-up on surfaces previously painted with KILZ CHALK STYLE PAINT.
